Shipping policy

Made to order

Almost everything at James Crossing is made to order. Our wallpapers and fabrics are sourced from independent artists and studios and are printed or woven in batches specifically for your order, so we are not able to guarantee exact shipment or arrival dates when an order is first placed. Timing varies by product and artist, but fabric typically ships in about three to four weeks, and wallpaper in about five to seven weeks. Once your order ships, we will email you a tracking number.

Because fabrics and wallpapers are produced in batches, colour may vary slightly from one print run to the next. We strongly recommend ordering all of the rolls or yardage you need in a single order, and confirming your quantities with your installer or upholsterer before you buy. James Crossing is not responsible for miscalculated quantities.

Where we ship

We ship to Canada and the United States, and our rates are the same in both. If you would like your order shipped somewhere else, please contact us at info@jamescrossing.ca before ordering and we will do our best to arrange it.

For orders shipping to Canada and the United States, duties are included. If any import duty is charged on your order, James Crossing pays it, so there is no duty to pay when your parcel arrives.

Shipping rates

Final shipping is always confirmed at checkout. Our current rates are:

  • Samples — Always free, or $20 if you would like them sent express
  • Brand McKenzie, Victoria Sanders, Annika Reed and Liberty James wallpaper — Free when you order two or more rolls from the same studio, and $75 for a single roll
  • Parker & Jules wallpaper and fabric — $125 for the first roll or metre and $10 for each additional roll or metre, up to $215 for ten or more. Orders of one or two rolls or metres also carry a $100 small-order charge, so one roll or metre is $225, two are $235 and three are $145.
  • Parker & Jules grasscloth — Grasscloth is heavier, so it ships at a higher rate: $150 for the first roll and $10 for each additional roll, up to $240 for ten or more. Orders of one or two rolls also carry the $100 small-order charge, so one roll is $250, two are $260 and three are $170.
  • Seed Home Designs wallpaper — Ships at the standard rates below, with a minimum order of two rolls in the same colourway. Samples don’t count toward the minimum.
  • All other wallpaper and fabric — $75 for the first roll or metre, then $10 for each additional roll or metre, up to a maximum of $165. This includes our super-wide wallpapers, and a set (such as an A and B pair) counts as one roll.

Samples always ship free, on their own or alongside a larger order, and they never count toward a free-shipping threshold or a minimum order. If your cart mixes items from more than one of the groups above, the shipping for each group is worked out separately and the amounts are added together at checkout. For example, one Brand McKenzie roll and one Victoria Sanders roll come to $150 in total. Express samples work the same way, at $20 for each group.

Duties and taxes

Canadian GST/HST is calculated and collected at checkout. Import duties are included on orders shipping to the United States, just as they are for Canada, so James Crossing pays any duty charged on your order. If a carrier or customs broker asks you to pay duty or Canadian GST or HST on an order, please contact us at info@jamescrossing.ca and we will help resolve it.
